Wellness Festival 2022

Forest Bathing

Forest bathing is something we all need in our lives and can be enjoyed by all age groups with good mobility. Forest bathing is an experience offered to people who can de stress simply by going into the woods for a period of time and with guidance it can benefit our health greatly. Recent scientific studies in Japan have proven that forest bathing reduces our blood pressure, boosts our immune system, improves our sleep patterns and lowers our cholesterol.

Johanna Wakeham - WildTime - Forest Bathing

During the Forest Bathing guided walk I will help participants tap into their senses using beautiful mindfulness activities. Enjoy a gentle walk through the woods, tuning into our bodies and really slowing down, connecting deeply with nature around us.

As you relax, feel some of the benefits of immersing yourself fully in nature, with your opened senses. These may include stress levels falling, moods lifting, concentration improving, anxiety and depression falling and a general immune system boost and more. The enormous benefits of a Forest Bathing walk can last up to three weeks afterwards.

Eager to help people find alternative ways for wellbeing - whether physically, mentally, spiritually or emotionally, Johanna runs events and programmes in beautiful woodland settings

around the south east. Her Wildtime events include Full Moon gatherings; 6 week programmes for stress management and mental health; workshops for corporate teambuilding, hen parties, teenager workshops and more. With 10 years’ experience running Fores School activities, her tailored events can also include bush craft, eco art, foraging, cooking on a fire, ropes, survival skills, nature based games and challenges.
